Kathleen C. Bowling
Kathleen Cote Bowling M.D., FACOG
Kathleen Cote Bowling, MD earned a bachelor’s degree in biology from Brown University, a master’s degree in human genetics/genetic counseling from Rutgers University and her medical degree at Dartmouth Medical. She completed her residency in obstetrics and gynecology at Women & Infants, affiliated with Brown Medical School. Dr. Bowling has been in private practice in Providence since 1986.
Dr. Bowling is a Clinical Associate Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology at The Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University. Since 1999, she has been a team chief, responsible for supervising medical students and residents at Women & Infants. She has received many teaching awards for her efforts.
During her career, Dr. Bowling has served on numerous hospital committees. She was the President of Women and Infants’ Medical Staff from 2005 to 2007 and received the Medical Staff’s Distinguished Service Award in 2002. She was on the Board of Trustees at Women & Infants Hospital from 1994 untill 2011. Dr. Bowling is the vice chair of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the hospital.
From 1996 to 1999, she was the vice chair of the RI Section of ACOG, and from 1999 to 2002 she was the chair. In 2003, Dr. Bowling was the program chair for the District I’s Annual Meeting in Italy.
Outside of medicine, Dr. Bowling was on the Board of Elizabeth Buffum Chace Center from 1994 until 2010 and the March of Dimes from 1994 to 2000. She is the President of the Board of Directors of the William C. Bowling Sr. Memorial Fund which awards grants for educational programs throughout Rhode Island in memory of her late husband. She is a trustee at LaSalle Academy and a member of the Board of the Thomas Beckett Society at Brown University.
Dr. Bowling is the proud mother of three grown sons.
